If you signed up for Spot using Apple’s Hide My Email feature and are now unable to log in with your regular email, follow the steps below to regain access to your account.
Why Is This Happening?
When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple generates a unique, random email address (e.g., [email protected]
). This email is linked to your Spot account instead of your personal email.
How to Recover Access
1. Try Signing in with Apple
Open the Spot app or website.
Select Sign in with Apple.
Ensure that the 'hide my email' feature is enabled
If you’re signed into the same Apple ID on your device, you should be able to log in seamlessly.
2. Find Your Apple Private Relay Email for Magic Link login
Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad.
Tap Apple ID (your name at the top).
Select Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID.
Find and select Spot.
Look for the Hide My Email address associated with your Spot account.
Use this email to login in to Spot with Magic Link
3. Create a New Account with Your Preferred Email
If you want to switch to your real email for easier access, you will need to create a new account as Spot does not support changing emails.
Open the Spot app or website.
Select Sign in with Apple.
Ensure that the 'hide my email' feature is enabled
In a new browser tab, create a new account in Spot using your preferred email
Transfer funds from your 'hide my email' account to your new account by using the 'transfer crypto' functionality in 'withdraw funds'
